GlaxoSmithKline's Vaccine
Enters Phase III Clinical Trials. Shows promising results
in preventing cervical HPV. The study involves 28,000 women
worldwide, and is directed at HPV Type 16 and HPV Type 18.
Over 70 % of cervical cancer is caused by Human
Papillomavirus. 5.5 million new case per year occur in the
United States. Commonly know as genital warts, the Human
Papillomavirus, is more common in those under 25 years of
age.
